Quick Guide

Plotica is an interactive math and physics visualization tool. You write equations in cells and Plotica renders plots instantly. This guide shows the minimum you need to get started.

Basic Usage

• Each line is a cell. Press Enter to execute.
• Use the left panel to toggle grid, axes, and plot settings.
• Functions you define can be reused in later cells.

Core Examples (Copy into a Cell)

f(x)=x^2-2\cdot x+1

y=f(x)

A=(2,1)

ODE (System)

Use the header form in a cell.

ODE: vars:x,y; params:a,b; time:t;
init: x=1,y=0,t0=0,t1=10,n=200,method=rk4;
x' = y; y' = -a\cdot x - b\cdot y

PDE (2D Example)

PDE: vars:x,y; params:a; time:t;
x0=-2,x1=2,nx=80; y0=-2,y1=2,ny=80;

Vector Field

Vector: vars:x,y; x0=-5,x1=5,nx=20; y0=-5,y1=5,ny=20;

You can enable streamlines or LIC from the Vector hint panel.

Vector3D Field

Vector3D: vars:x,y,z; x0=-2,x1=2,nx=7; y0=-2,y1=2,ny=7;
z0=-2,z1=2,nz=7; u=y; v=-x; w=0.5*z; scale=0.25

Text Label

Text: x=3; y=3; text=hello; font=system-ui; size=20

Use text= for literal text and text== to evaluate an expression.

Notes

• Multiplication can be written as \cdot.
• For PDE derivatives, u_t, u_x, u_xx are supported.
• If computation is heavy, leave storeEvery as auto or increase it (e.g. 10, 20, 40).
• Use vector and ODE hints for guided input.
